Who We Are
Greg Lawrence, President
Debbie Murphy, Executive Director
What you read below is who we have been for the past 9 years. We are currrently restructuring our organization since the loss of the building, in 2011, we were using. But we are still serving our commuinity and partnering with other orgainzations holding mobile events.
As we begin again The Dream, The Vision, The Mission has not changed, only our location(s) has changed until such a day we have our very own again. Until then we simply go where God leads and continue to serve our commuity with His love and compassion being hands and feet where ever we are needed!
NCORC is a non-denominational community outreach program that is operated by volunteers from all denominations and walks of life. We simply love God and desire to serve others and live out the example that Jesus gave to us in the gospel of Matthew to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, help heal the sick and take care of those that have been imprisioned.
This outreach was started in February 2004 under the title of Matthew's House completely on faith, with no idea of how to do it or where it would take us.
Thousands of people have found help, hope and the love of Jesus through this open door. God continually amazes us as we have simply been obedient to His call.
We offer emergency food, clothing, hygiene and backpacks and school supplies to anyone in need. The third Saturday of each month we serve the community’s homeless and less fortunate. We greet our community with a free hot meal and assess their needs.
Since 2006 medical students from the Vanderbilt Medical Center have been coming on this day and performing free health screenings consisting of eye exams, BP and Diabetes.
Nashville Cares joined us in 2008 and provides HIV testing and counseling.
The Shade Tree Clinic came along side us in the fall of 2008 with the gracious help of Dr.Robert Miller and began giving free flu shots. We have been able to vaccinate hundreds of homeless and less fortunate and save countless lives with this endeavor. Through the Matthew's House Outreach, the Shade Tree Clinic began initiatives and received further grant funding and began serveral other free flu shot clinics in the South Nashville area! The Vanderbilt nursing school soon joined in full force. Their participation has permitted the expansion of other vaccines to many other shelters. In 2010 efforts lead to the Department of Health and Human Services helping to get access to other vaccines such as tetnus and pneumonia. This would not have been possible if the need not been brought to attention of the medical commuity through the Matthew's House Outreach.
Wednesdays and Thursdays we meet with ex-offenders from all around the area as they transition from prison back into society and provide clothing, food and other needs based on individual assessement.
When a need arises that we are unable to fill we link them with other resource assistance programs.

~Partner with us, help us grow and enable us to continue to offer hope for a better way of life. ~
By God's grace alone, in the past 8 years we were able to serve the needs of well over 7000 people. Thank you to all that have helped make this such an incredible ministry to the south Nashville area and beyond. You are the hands and feet of Jesus coming along side us.
Hebrews 6:10
God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.
